THIS PIECE HAS SOLD! There is a subtle and persistently positive energy emanating from this piece. During its creation, there were several times it insisted I take another path from the one I had planned. I'm glad I did.
THIS PIECE HAS SOLD... if you like it and would like to commission another piece like it, just contact me and we'll iron out the details. Remember, I don't replicate anything exactly, so yours will be different from this piece.
The plant this gourd came from began life as a seedling in my basement. Whether the positive energy it shares comes from the months of cheering on I gave it as it grew and cured or the fact that I listened intently as the piece itself spoke to me as my hands created it is anyone's guess.
The outside shell is a cured and cleaned kettle gourd, the inside is lined with ApoxieSculpt. The bear totem is carved into an elk button with the life line burned in. A deer antler forms the focus top back. The four bear paws are burned into some repurposed wooden beads. Waxed, Irish linen tread was carefully looped around the paper cord and beads. The smaller beads are also repurposed from a piece of jewelry. I'm unsure of their origin but they seem to be natural rather than plastic.
As with all my sacred pieces, this one has been cleansed (with sage from my garden) and blessed (with sweetgrass from my garden and sacred water from my ceremonies). It holds a persistently positive energy that seems to radiate outward. A very appropriate home would be one that holds forest animals and bear near and dear.
